Brian Schottenheimer reveals concern level for Joe Milton after preseason performance

Two games in the pre-season, Joe Milton did not perform well for Dallas Cowboys. Saturday was the last example, fighting to find anything against the Baltimore Ravens. The cowboys allowed Milton to play during most of the match before finally shooting it in favor of Will Grier.
After the match, head coach Brian Schottenheimer was asked if he was concerned about Milton so far. He thinks that the whole offense was the problem, not his quarter. Entering any type of flow was difficult for cowboys, especially in the first half.
“I wouldn’t say that I am worried,” said Schottenheimer via Jon Machota Athletics. “We did not enter a rhythm. … It was not only Joe.”
Milton ended up finishing nine of his 18 passes, going for 122 yards and no touched. An interception can be added and frustrating to that. A piece after the defense of the Cowboys forced his own turnover, Milton brought him straight to the Ravens on a deep pass.
Over the past years, the quarter aid was not too much a problem in Dallas. Every time Dak Prescott could not play, generally due to health, Cooper Rush Adapt well. His 14 starts in three seasons resulted in nine victories – not too bad a record by considering the situation.
Schottenheimer always has Milton faith is someone who can fulfill the role. Similar to his first response, he did not express too much concern.
“I think we have to believe it,” said Schottenheimer when he was asked about having a trusted quarter of safeguard. “I think we believe it. … I am not panicked.”
Milton still has a few weeks of training camp to show improvement. A last pre-season match also remains, coming against the Falcons of Atlanta on Friday evening. After sending the capital of New England in exchange for Milton, there are investments in the second year player.
At the same time, cowboys do not plan to have Milton there at any time. Hope is that Prescott remains healthy throughout the season. If Milton sees the field, the game has already been decided.
However, the recent history of Prescott injuries make the position relevant. Milton’s inability to occur in pre-season arouses a concern, at least from the outside. At least when he speaks to the media, Schottenheimer is not ready to press the panic button.
