Brooklyn yeshiva spray-painted with swastikas by hate-filled vandal

A Brooklyn yeshiva was spray-painted with swastikas early Wednesday, the Daily News has learned.
A security guard at the Magen David Yeshiva in Gravesend called 911 around 6:30 a.m. after finding two swastikas painted red on a pillar and window, police said.
Two “half swastikas” or “Zs” were also found painted on the yeshiva, which includes an Orthodox Jewish elementary school, on McDonald Avenue near Avenue T, police said.
Half-swastikas, sometimes called “zwastikas”, are used by Russian nationalists who support the invasion of Ukraine.
Police believe the hate symbols were drawn on the building shortly after 12:30 a.m.
School administrators sent an email to parents Wednesday morning to inform them of the hateful vandalism.
“Senior NYPD and Shomrim officers are actively investigating,” wrote Senior Rabbi Ezra Cohen-Saban. “We have increased security on site and will continue to work closely with law enforcement to ensure the safety of our students and staff, which remains our top priority.”
The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating. Police are reviewing surveillance footage to try to identify the vandal.
