Bundeswehr plane drops more aid into Gaza
The armed forces of Germany or Bundeswehr made another aid card in the Gaza Strip, a spokesperson in DPA said on Saturday in the middle of the famine in the besieged area.
An A400M plane which left Jordan released 22 pallets of food and medical supplies weighing a total of 9.6 tonnes. He said.
If possible, help flights must continue on Sunday, added the spokesperson.
The Gaza Strip is on the verge of famine, the United Nations said. Israel controls all the access points to the region and for several months, has not allowed none or only minimum aid deliveries to pass to increase the pressure on the Palestinian Islamist group of Hamas.
After crossing criticisms worldwide from the suffering of Palestinian civilians, Israel gave larger deliveries on the ground last week and supported the air drops of allied assistance supplies such as Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (Water).
Germany participates in the operation with two planes which are loaded in a military base in Jordan and drops the food and equipment necessary urgently on the Gaza Strip.
But air drops are ineffective and costly due to relatively small quantities compared to trucks, according to international organizations. Supply pallets can also hurt or kill people on the ground in such a densely populated area.
