ByteDance, TikTok’s Parent Company, Might Be Developing Mixed Reality Goggles

Bytedance, the mother company of Tiktok, would work on mixed reality glasses which could potentially go from meta in the portable space of virtual / augmented reality. The team behind the company’s Pico 4 VR headset would have developed a smaller and lighter laptop for mixed reality. It is said that it is similar in its set of features in the next Meta smart glasses.

Bytedance glasses would be roughly the size of Bigscreen Beyond, which weigh around 100 grams. Like the Meta Orion prototype, the heavy calculation of calculation will be done mainly in a separate washer. Unlike the Orion, the additional device will fix the glasses via a wire.

There is no word yet whether the device will be published under the Pico brand, or even when launched.
