Candace Owens questioned the idea that President Donald Trump survived “four assassination attempts” and discussed Charlie Kirk’s assassination Thursday in an interview with Hunter Biden.
Owens discussed the murder of Kirk, Turning Point USA’s founder and the government’s response with the son of former Democrat President Joe Biden. She questioned the authenticity of Trump having survived “four assassination attempts” after Hunter alleged government corruption and obfuscation in connection with Kirk’s death and the Butler, Pennsylvania, assassination attempt against Trump. The pair also covered scandals surrounding Hunter and other political issues. Trump has faced multiple attempts on his life, including at Butler, West Palm Beach and Mar-a-lago, Florida and most recently the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. “We still don’t know what happened to Charlie,” Owens said, claiming there is “zero interest” in investigating the assassination. Referring to the Trump family, FBI Director Kash Patel and others, she said, “To see all of these people have zero interest in the obvious holes in this story, even if ultimately the holes get filled and there’s a picture that makes sense, which I put that at zero percent chance. But just, you know, the fact that they have zero interest and are just accepting the narrative […] I’m just done with politics.”
“That element of gaslighting that’s happening here,” Owens continued. “They’re pretending that the people who are noticing that none of this is making sense are the crazy ones, and everyone else who’s like, ‘Nope, turn the chapter a week later, it’s all solved […] and none of it makes sense but just accept this slop’ — it is the most infuriating thing and it’s fully removed the scales from my eyes.”
“This is sheer evil,” Owens concluded, prompting agreement from Hunter. “Exactly. It is good versus evil,” he told her.
Hunter then voiced his indignation at the public’s reception of Candace’s discussion of the Kirk assassination. “And the criticism of you for asking the questions for someone who was like a brother to you, it’s like, what the [f*ck] are you talking about?”
“I listen to you and I go, ‘right on!’” Hunter concluded.

The pair then touched on alleged government misconduct. “I do think there was something about the Charlie Kirk assassination that everyone just sort of looked up, we just sort of all looked up at the machine and was like, ‘Wait a second, what is this?’” Owens said.
“I’m here, and you’re here. And I really think that we’re not unique,” Hunter said. “This, what we’re witnessing right now, isn’t right. The level of corruption, the obfuscation. I mean, whether it’s Butler or Charlie, or these things, it’s just not right. “They’re not even trying. […] It’s so disrespectful that we’re not even getting good PSYOPs anymore,” Candace said, alleging that “psychological operations” meant to control public responses before turning to Trump. “We’re supposed to believe that [Trump] survived four, what do we got, four assassination attempts? The first president that’s ever survived four assassination attempts? They lie to us about things, they make a big deal, and then they make it want to, you know, it’s going to go away.”
“They’re going to keep pretending and telling us that this is a totally normal, grieving widow, okay — no one’s buying that. […] This is not how you would react to your husband being shot,” Candace claimed, referring to Charlie’s widow, Erika Kirk.
“You’re asking us to abandon our common sense and our humanity,” Candace said. “They’re just constantly giving us slop. I mean, even the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner. There was so much theater to it afterward, so much theater, and now its kind of, ‘Okay, the Secret Service maybe shot each other and we’re just going to quietly move on.’ But Trump needs a ballroom.”
Owens has received public criticism for her accusation that Turning Point USA leaders betrayed Kirk after his assassination. She has also questioned the circumstances surrounding the July 2024 assassination attempt on Trump at Butler.
Authorities accused the deceased Thomas Matthew Crooks of the Butler assassination attempt on Trump. While the criminal investigation remains technically open, the Bureau concluded that Crooks acted alone and without foreign influence, Patel told Fox News in a November 2025 interview. Ryan Ruth is serving a life sentence for attempting to assassinate Trump in September 2025 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
A man was shot allegedly trying to storm Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in February. The Justice Department charged Cole Allen with attempting to take Trump’s life on April 27. Prosecutors charged Tyler Robinson with the murder of Kirk in Utah, and he awaits trial.
