As is usually the case after Consumer Electronics Show (CES), old flagship tech products drop in price—including televisions like OLED models, QLEDs and budget options. In other words, the coming weeks are a great time to upgrade if you’re looking for good deals on older flagship models.
One of the best deals I’ve found so far is on the Samsung S85F, an entry-level OLED TV that was already on the lower end of the price scale before this latest reduction. Right now, you can get the 65-inch series for $1,197.99 (originally $1,797.99) or the 77-inch for $1,497.99 (originally $2,997.99 at launch), both the lowest prices ever, according to price trackers.
Not everyone can afford OLED TVs, as they’re the most expensive type of TV technology on the market, but they’re worth the jump in picture quality and colors. If you’ve been waiting for a good opportunity to get a decent-sized, well-priced OLED at a great price, consider the Samsung S85F, especially if you’re a gamer.
As expected, Samsung had to make some cuts to make a cheaper OLED, and it made them in the audio department, brightness, and removing Dolby Vision. But the picture quality, colors, and gaming features rival high-end OLEDs, which is impressive, especially for the price. This OLED was released in September 2025 and its price has dropped significantly since then.
What do you think of it so far?
Gamers can use the four HDMI 2.1 ports supporting 4K 120Hz gaming, AMD FreeSync Premium, Nvidia G-Sync, ALLM, and HDR10+. Latency is just 9.4ms, so you’ll get fast and responsive performance. Of course, you also get Samsung’s Gaming Hub with access to cloud gaming apps.
