Trump’s ‘Theatrical’ National Guard Deployments ‘Beneath the Office that He Holds’

On Tuesday on CNN “Outfront”, Governor Wes Moore (D-MD) said that President Donald Trump sending the National Guard to the cities was “theatrical”, and therefore “under the office he occupies”.
Moore said: “The reality is that what the National Guard has done was things like railing the mulch and picking up waste and paint fences. And therefore, even if the figures we saw in Washington, DC, they are impressive and they are important, we also know that it is very closely reflected in what Baltimore has had in the same period.”
He continued: “What we see from the President of the United States is not a strategy to combat crime is a performative strategy.”
Moore added: “I want to be very clear for the president, we do not need the national guard in our cities. We need a serious approach to crime fights and that’s not it. I was also very clear that we would welcome federal support. Supports these illegal firearms in our neighborhoods and in our streets, that Congress could really work to solve the problem of ghost pistols and take out these ghost pistols from our neighborhoods, which have really reduced. It is deeply theatrical and frankly, under the office he occupies. »»
