Original report:
Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell is expected to provide an update Friday on the cases that have received national attention.
Worrell plans to share more details about the protests involving the former rainbow-colored crosswalk next to the now-demolished Pulse nightclub.
Worrell plans to speak around 10 a.m. from his downtown Orlando office.
These cases relate to events that occurred after the Florida Department of Transportation ordered the removal of the rainbow crosswalk near Pulse nightclub last year.
Following this order, the pedestrian crossing was painted black overnight. The decision sparked weeks of protests.
During the protests, individuals repeatedly used chalk and paint on the crosswalk in an attempt to return the area to rainbow colors.
Channel 9 will have a crew at Worrell’s press conference and will provide updates on Eyewitness News.
