College football rankings: Florida, Oklahoma State, Iowa, West Virginia sink into Bottom 25

Part 2 of the Rich Rodriguez era of Virginie-Western brought the same opponent of week 2 as part of part 1 of his mandate, the Mountaineers displaying enemy of the border. Only this time, the result was very different because the bobcats amazed WVU 17-10 to launch an early palace during the Rodriguez meeting with his Alma Mater.
A record crowd of 26,740 at the Peden stadium of the Bobcats experienced the victory of Ohio, which was not a stroke of luck. The bobcats exceeded Virginia-Western 429-250 and doubled WVU in time of possession. If it is not for three interceptions in the second half by the defense of Mountaineers, Ohio would probably have gained more.
Virginia-Western and Ohio played four times between 1983 and 2001 with Mountaineers becoming 4-0 while surpassing 136-9 bobcats. The 2001 meeting, which was the last in the series until this year, brought its first victory to WVU to Rodriguez.
This 20-3 victory was the first of the 60 for Rodriguez to WVU from 2001 to 2007 when he transformed Mountaineers into national power. Now 62, Rodriguez is back in his old playgrounds and in the early stages of the program reconstruction. The loss of Saturday inflicted significant damage to the hopes of WVU to become eligible for the bowl in 2025, and he won the Mountaineers a place in the 25th anniversary of this week.
This year’s lower formula has been modified to ensure fair representation of all sport. Each of the four Power Four leagues obtains an automatic offer around 25 less per week, and a total of 10 Power Four schools must be represented.

Hawkeye’s iNeptitude
The defeat of the week 2 of Iowa against his rival of Iowa State confirmed the fears that a disappointing victory of week 1 on Albany produced: the Hawkeyes offensive is again appalling. Everything hopes that the double winner of the national title of the FCS, Mark Gronowski, would bring a spark in the quarter-reanted quarter with his second consecutive performance of passes of less than 100 meters

Pasadena peril
The UCLA started 1-5 last season before winning four of its last six to breathe some confidence in the management of the program. This confidence left after the Bruins placed in a 23-0 hole against the UNLV in the week 2. A valiant return failed, leaving the UCLA 0-2 and needs a victory on Friday evening on the New Mexico to avoid a race without a conference without a victory.

Bad place, bad weather
You should feel bad for Louisiana-Monroe. In different circumstances, the Alabama would have demoted and would have been a little more courteous for the Warhawks on visit. But in the aftermath of a defeat of week 1 in Florida’s state, Crimson Tide let out a certain rage on ULM in a 73-0 victory. Bad place, bad weather.

Get out of Sandman
The collapse of Virginia Tech’s second half in a 44-20 home loss against Vanderbilt underlined the painful reality of the measure in which the Hokies have fallen since the age of Frank Beamer, because they were upgraded 34-0 by the commodores after the break. The Hokies are now 0-8 against the opponents Big 12, Big Ten and dry under the fourth year Brenti Pry coach.

Cortation cowboys
The state of Oklahoma has undergone its worst loss since the previous week to become a state in 1907, while the cowboys dropped from 69-3 to Oregon. The cowboys have now dropped 10 consecutive games against FBS enemies, which is the worst active sequence of any Power Four team and the longest stretch in the history of the program.
