Commanders owner Josh Harris has another new franchise

Washington commanding managing partner Josh Harris has another team. On Monday, the WNBA announced its latest expansion series, granting franchises in Cleveland, Detroit and Philadelphia. Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) has and will use the franchise.

Harris published the following declaration:

Philadelphia is one of the most legendary basketball cities in the world, and our region houses some of the greatest players and coaches for ever honored hardwood. It is just that this city finally obtains the WNBA franchise it deserves, and we are humiliated to help inaugurate a new era of Philadelphia basketball. Thank you to my partners David Blitzer, David Adelman, Brian Roberts and the Comcast team, and Governor Shapiro and the Mayor Parker mayor for their collective leadership. We are committed to building a world class organization, promoting the continuous growth of professional sports in women in this big city and bringing one of the fastest leagues in the world in Philadelphia in 2030.

The WNBA announced that the Cleveland franchise would start the game in 2028, the Detroit franchise in 2029 and Philadelphia in 2030.

Harris is now a managing partner of commanders, Philadelphia 76ers (NBA), New Jersey Devils (NHL) and the new WNBA franchise. Harris is also a general partner for the Crystal Palace in the Premier League. He also has a minority participation in Joe Gibbs Racing.

While philadelphia fans consider Harris in a sense, he is loved in his native Washington. Since his takeover in 2023, Harris has brought respectability and brought back to commanders. He and his partners also invested massively in the North West stadium and the headquarters of Washington in Ashburn, Virginia. In addition, Harris is working on building a new stadium in Washington, DC, on the site of the old RFK stadium.
