Felipe Arriaga rolls Eisenhower past Shepard

As a younger brother and third Eisenhower football player in his family, Felipe Ariaga has always felt an additional motivation to work harder in order to follow his brothers and sisters.
The older brothers of Arriaga, Gael and Alan, never took him sweetness on the football field. Felipe, a senior midfielder, knows that it made him better.
“Being the youngest, I have always been chosen,” said Arriaga. “My brothers have always challenged me to be my best. Even now, when I play with them, it’s always great to learn from them because I continue to develop as a player.”
Arriaga has become a leading playmaker for the Cardinals Resurgent. He scored two goals and denounced a decisive pass on Thursday evening to visit Eisenhower to a 3-0 South South Suburban Red victory against Palos Heights.
Adrian Padilla added a goal for Eisenhower (7-2, 4-0), while Moises Ramos made three stops to record the laundering. Francisco Remigio, Brian Rodriguez and Emilio Avila led the defense.
Neftaly Orozco finished with six stops for Shepard (4-7, 1-3).

Arriaga, on the other hand, is happy to have been able to produce major statistics so far this season so that he can let his brothers hear about it. He has up to seven goals and 11 assists.
“There is always competition in the whole family, who talks about who makes objectives and who does not mark the objectives,” said Arriaga. “They always give me trouble, so I must be able to tell them something in return.”
Arriaga did not score on the hard shot he pulled in the 28th minute. He hit the post, but Padilla was there to hit the rebound to break a goalless tie.
Arriaga was not held the dashboard much longer, however. Less than two minutes later, he pushed a defender and found the back of the net. He added his second goal in the 34th minute when he stole the ball into a defender and shot in a quick shot.

These are the types of plays that Eisenhower’s coach Iran Rodriguez has got used to what Ariga has been doing in recent times.
“He is one of our captains and he still passes,” said Rodriguez. “He has the most help and goals in our team. It is good that even when our other star player is out, Felipe can intensify. He took the lead and worn.”
The other Rodriguez star referred to James Acevedo, who has five goals and four assists but who is currently injured.
Arriaga knew it was up to him to help fill this void.

“James is a great player,” said Arriaga. “He brings a lot to our team. He was our top scorer until he was injured. Of course, when it is injured, I have to intensify, but we also have many other players who can also intensify. ”
Remigio is convinced that, if the defense of cardinals can do their job, Ariaga will help them score goals.
“He is talented by himself,” said Remigio. “It is good to feel the pressure of the back and turn into space and move forward. But it also helps to have a lot of chemistry.
“His ability to connect with our teammates around him made us see a lot of success and I think that is why we were able to score many more goals than last year.”

The cardinals have already exceeded their total victories compared to last season, when they finished 6-6-5.
“This year feels different,” said Arriaga. “It is as if we were all connected. We no longer have an ego. We all like to play football and we have fun. ”
This gives Arriaga flashbacks to watch from the stands while his older brothers played for successful Eisenhower teams.
“I watched a ton of matches here,” he said. “It’s incredible to play finally. I always dreamed of that when I was little, in fourth or fifth year watch them play and watch them develop.
“After looking at these teams over the years, it’s fun to see how we can compare them now.”
