Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani has written a children’s book about pooch Decoy
Shohei Ohtani is already well known as a launcher and a knock.
The Dodgers superstar recently assumed another role: the author of the children’s book.
Ohtani’s dog, Decy, is already known as the cutest of Nederlandse Kookerhondje on the planet (and probably the only one to be immortalized in the form of Bobblehead).
He also recently played a new role: the main character in a children’s book.
The children’s books of Ohtani and HarperCollins announced Thursday the next publication of “Decy Saves Opening Day”, which is available for pre -order and will be published on February 3.
“Lerey saves the opening day” was written by the star of the Dodgers Shohei Ohtani and Michael Blank with illustrations by Fanny Liem. It is a fictitious story on Ohtani’s real dog.

Ohtani wrote the book with Michael Blank. Fanny LIEM illustrates the story of the adventures of lure as he tells the house to find his lucky baseball in the hope of returning to the stadium in time to throw the opening launch.
The cover indicates that Lure could have succeeded in his mission, because he shows illustrated versions of Ohtani and his dog (with Ball in Mouth) sharing a happy moment on the diamond with the stands full of fans that encourage themselves behind them.
“The lure has been by my side through so many significant moments, and I am delighted to share a story that celebrates what makes it so special,” Ohtani said in a HarperCollins press release. “I hope it will bring joy to young readers.”
The book can be a fictional work, but at least a part of it is based on real life – Lerey has in fact “launched” a first ceremonial throw before.
