Dolphins CB Kader Kohou to go on season-ending IR with knee injury

Miami Gardens, Florida (AP) – The dolphins share the Kader Kohou corner half will miss the 2025 season after undergoing a knee injury on Saturday.

Miami coach Mike McDaniel said on Wednesday morning that Kohou, a former non -drained player who quickly made his way in a starting role, was going to injure himself.

Kohou went down by catching his right knee after an individual representative against the Tyreek Hill recipient during training. He stayed on the ground for a few minutes while being examined by the coaches before walking carefully, but under his own power out of the dolphin training field.

“I saw him enter the League without promising anything and winning his place in this team,” said McDaniel. “And this year in particular, I saw him climb to a different level trying to take the reign of his career and bring his game to an even higher level. For that, and the moment, I was crushed until I spoke to Kader, and honestly, Kader made me feel a little better from the place where he was, simply by his state of mind.”

Kohou signed with dolphins as a free agent not drafted in 2022 and recorded 180 plated, a bag and three interceptions in three years.

It was a blow for Miami secondary that has undergone significant changes since the end of last season. All the starters of the dolphins in secondary school – including the All -Pro Jalen Ramsey corner half, which was exchanged, and the security of Jevon Holland, who left for a free agency – left.

Miami recently signed the veteran half -corner Mike Hilton, who thinks of being the probable starter in the slit this season. Former Raiders and Cornerback Patriots Jack Jones also recently signed with Miami to compete for an outdoor corner. The other border options include veteran Kendall Sheffield, Cam Smith and Storm Duck.

McDaniel said he felt good about the depth of the dolphins at the hornback at the moment, but has not excluded the possibility of signing another experienced player.

“If there was a situation in a week when I did not feel that we were good,” added McDaniel, “(Managing Director) Chris (Grier) and I would speak, and we would do something there.”

Miami’s secondary will also be without Ashyn Davis for a while after security has undergone a contactless injury in practice this week. McDaniel said the team still assessed the extent of the injury, but that it should not be at the end of the season.
