Kilmar Abrgeo Garcia, the Salvadoran illegal immigrant who became the face of the Trump administration’s mass deportation campaign, has been released.
Garcia’s attorney confirmed his release to Fox News.
His release comes after a federal judge ordered his release Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis ordered Abrego Garcia’s release from the Moshannon Valley ICE Processing Center in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, on the grounds that the Trump administration had failed to obtain the final notice of deportation order necessary to expel him to a third country, including a list of African countries it had previously identified for deportation.
“Since Abrego Garcia’s return from wrongful detention in El Salvador, he has been detained again, again without legal authorization,” Xinis said in his Thursday order.
