Ex-Chick-fil-A Worker Charged in $80K Mac-and-Cheese Scam

A former Chick-fil-A employee allegedly stole a huge amount of money from a Grapevine, Texas restaurant through a mac and cheese scam.
The suspect was identified as Keyshun Jones, 23, who had been fired from his job at the restaurant about a month before the alleged theft, Fox 4 reported Tuesday.
Once the restaurant owner alerted law enforcement to the alleged theft, officers reviewed surveillance footage showing Jones behind the counter. However, he did not have permission to go there.
Pictures to show the photo of the suspect and a photo of him while he was behind the restaurant counter:
He is accused of using a cash register to record 800 orders of the restaurant’s macaroni and cheese, then making refunds to his own credit cards. Reimbursements total just over $80,000.
According to NBC News, the incident occurred in November and police said the suspect evaded arrest until they finally arrested him on April 17. Officers from the Fort Worth Police Department and the Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive Task Force assisted in the investigation.
It remains unclear why Jones was fired from his job at the restaurant. Regarding the alleged crime, Jones was charged with theft of property, money laundering and escape.
In 2024, Chick-fil-A made headlines after an armed robbery at one of the company’s Georgia locations. A man was accused of breaking the drive-thru window with a rock and entering the building. However, a delivery driver working inside got into a fight with the suspect, who eventually fled.
Surveillance cameras inside the company recorded tense moments:
“According to police, authorities obtained arrest warrants for the suspect for armed robbery, aggravated assault, second-degree burglary, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and second-degree criminal damage to property,” the Breitbart News article said, noting that he was ultimately arrested.
