Eufy’s Newest Robot Vacuum Has the Longest Roller Mop We’ve Seen for the Price

Compatible with cleaning robot vacuum cleaners are not a new concept. There are many on the market, ranging from simple vibrating cleaning pads to rotating brush head types. More recently, we’ve seen many roller mops that feature a brush system that self-cleans with fresh water while cleaning. Usually found on higher-end models, Eufy’s new affordable Omni C28 carries the brushroll priced at $800.
We’re currently testing it in CNET’s test lab in Louisville to see how it performs, and we should have an update on our list of best robot vacuum cleaners Soon.
What’s new with the Omni C28
The Omni C28 brush roll should not become entangled with animal or human hair.
Eufy’s C series tends to be the company’s mid-priced models, while still offering a good balance of high-end features. The $700 Eufy Omni C20 (currently on sale for $350), for example, offers an all-in-one base station and a very thin 3.35-inch body that can fit under low furniture. However, it has the most traditional rotating mop rollers, with 180 rotations per minute and 6 newtons of downward pressure.
However, for those unfamiliar with these types of brushes, higher-end robot vacuums lean toward brushroll cleaning because they provide better scrubbing and mess removal. In addition to the new mop type, the big difference with the C28 is the large 10.7-inch mop roll, which Eufy says is the longest in its price range.
The C28 has 15,000Pa suction for vacuuming in addition to its cleaning capabilities.
The mop roller self-cleans with clean water nine times per second, which the company says is the highest in the industry. There is also an internal scraper that extracts waste water from the roller and moves it to the dirty water tank. The roller supports 10N of downward pressure, more than the 6N you get with the C20.
The vacuum brush features helpful technologies including DuoSpiral brushes with built-in comb teeth to prevent pet and human hair tangles.
Specifications and Features
The C28 comes with lidar and has object avoidance and mapping capabilities. We will test it at CNET Lab.
Other specs and features are pretty standard. The C28 features iPath 2.0 laser navigation, which includes lidar detection and the ability to avoid objects and recognize home layouts. It can cross thresholds up to 20 millimeters high and the roller mop lifts up to 10.8 millimeters when it detects carpet to keep it dry.
The C28 comes with 15,000Pa suction and should work for dust, pet hair, crumbs, and other debris on different surfaces like hardwood floors, tiles, and carpets.
There is an all-in-one base station that Eufy says allows for 75 days of hands-free maintenance. It must handle mopping, dusting, filling the water tank, collecting waste water and hot air drying the mop rolls on its own. The company claims that a four-air duct system allows for 25% faster drying.
