Floyd Schofield has erased a lot of persistent bad feelings when he crossed Tevin Farmer in their light fight on the Jake Paul subcart against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Saturday.

Schofield faced an important backlash in February when he was to face Shakur Stevenson on the sub-pace of the Revenge match between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol in Saudi Arabia. After talking about significant waste levels to get Stevenson’s fight, Schofield, 22, withdrew at the last minute, leaving Stevenson to fight Josh Padley in a short time.

Schofield was debated by Stevenson and the fans after Schofield’s father said his son was poisoned by Stevenson team members.

On Saturday, Schofield was just a -250 favorite against Farmer, a former light junior world champion, but it only took 35 seconds for Schofield to drop with a radical right hand.

Farmer managed to beat the count but was clearly compromised and unstable on his feet. Feeling blood in the water, Schofield continued to attack, quickly dropping the farmer a second time.

The referee allowed an unstable farmer to continue but was forced to jump after Schofield was connected to a few additional punches.

The final punchstats were impressive, Schofield just having to get eight of the 14 punches to obtain two kicks and the arrival. The farmer only won only one punch and only managed to launch two.

It was an impressive performance for Schofield because Farmer had made 22 rounds with William Zepeda in his two most recent fights, losing a divided decision and a majority decision.

After the fight, an emotional Schofield discussed the assessment that the situation surrounding Stevenson’s fight had taken him on him.

“It looks like a weight has been removed from my shoulders,” said Schofield. “I have doubted what happened in February. Many people did not think I would win this fight. It’s just a lot of emotions.” “After what happened in February, I was depressed and I wanted to leave boxing and not be here. Read the comments and everything … My little boy kept me here.

“I have never had any doubts. Just because I read the comments that it made me feel a guy because people have changed me.”
