Fortnite will return to Google’s Play Store globally on March 19

Now that Epic Games and Google have reconciled – or at least found a way to resolve their long-standing differences – anyone with a compatible Android device can get back to gaming. Fortnite. The game will return to the Play Store globally on March 19, the same day as the next one Fortnite the season is on. It had already returned to the Play Store in the United States in December.
Google removed Fortnite from the Play Store in 2020 after Epic attempted to circumvent the 30% cut of all in-app purchases in the storefront as well. Apple did the same thing with the App Store version of Fortnite. Epic quickly sued Google and Apple, sparking years-long legal battles with both companies.
The dispute with Apple eventually led the company to open the App Store in some markets, including the US and EU. Fortnite returned to the App Store in the EU in 2024 and in the US last year.
Google and Epic reached an agreement in November. Earlier this month, Google announced that it was reducing the cut for in-app payments from 30 percent to between 10 and 20 percent. Around that time, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney (who reportedly agreed not to speak publicly about the Play Store until 2032 as part of the settlement) confirmed that Fortnite would return to Google’s mobile storefront.
Epic recently announced a price increase for the in-game currency V-Bucks. He also confirmed that Fortnite Save the World – the game’s original mode – will be free in April.
