Gantz considers joining Netanyahu’s government to push through Gaza hostage deal, MK confirms
His decision counter the expression of the opposition of the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir and the Minister of Finance Betzalel Smotrich.
Blue and White President MK Benny Gantz could return to the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to support a cease-fire contract in Gaza and hostages, Kan News reported on Wednesday evening.
His decision counter the Minister of National Security Minister of National Security and the Minister of Finance Betzalel Smotrich.
MK Alon Schuster, Blue and White, spoke to Kan Reshet BET later on Wednesday. During his interview, Shuster corroborated the report, declaring: “Currently, there are no talks to join the government, but if we understand that this is what will lead to the release of the hostages, then that is what we will do. What do they expect? That we let the hostages die?”
Gantz’s “safety net” for Netanyahu
Gantz had previously organized consultations concerning the supply of a “safety net” for the coalition, although it did not officially discuss the government.
“The government has a clear majority and a large safety net to bring the hostages back,” wrote Gantz on X / Twitter.

“Netanyahu is not the time to hesitate – it’s time to make the right decisions for the people of Israel and Israel.”
During the first Gantz meeting with his faction after the former MKS Gadi Eisenkot and Matan Kahana left the party in July, he said that Blue and White would not join the government of Netanyahu.
