Geneva man charged with reproducing child pornography

A man from Geneva was arrested on August 27 and accused of 16 counts of possession and reproduction of juvenile pornography, according to a press release from the Kane County Prosecutor Office and the Sheriff’s Bureau of Kane.
Prosecutors allege that, between May 9 and August 27, Karl P. Bibler, 27, from the West State Street block 1500, owned and reproduced several digital videos containing sexual abuse equipment, according to the press release.
Bibler is accused of eight chiefs of possession of juvenile pornography and eight reproductive chiefs of juvenile pornography involving a victim under the age of 13, officials said.
The investigation was conducted by the Kane County Children’s Operating Unit, a working group created by the Kane County Prosecutor’s Office and the Kane County Sheriff’s Bureau in 2022, the press release said.
A pre -trial detention hearing took place on August 29, during which the State argued for the detention of Bibleer, the press release said. However, the court ordered Bibler to be released under special conditions and a preliminary supervision, according to the judicial archives of the county of Kane.
Bibler’s next hearing date is set for October 9.
