Get ready for the next “blood moon”

The moon continues to grow larger as we get closer to the next full moon on March 3. Also known as the Worm Moon, a nod to the start of spring and the spring rains that accompany it.
This full moon will also be a “blood moon,” the name given to the rusty appearance the moon takes on during a total lunar eclipse. The eclipse is caused by Earth’s shadow passing across the face of the Moon and will be visible across North and Central America, west to East Asia.
You’ll have to get up early to catch it, it will start at 2:44am and end at 6:08am. Totality will occur at 5:33 a.m.

You don’t need any special tools to observe the eclipse, just a good forecast. This is questionable at the moment. It looks like the sky is mostly cloudy at this time.
The next lunar eclipse visible in North America (partial) after March will occur in August. We will have to wait until June 2029 for the next total lunar eclipse.
