Has James Carville Forgotten ‘It’s The Economy, Stupid’? – RedState

James Carville seems to have trouble staying under the spotlight, or at least in the darkness of the spotlight. A committed Creature Clinton, Carville actually made a certain sense in recent declarations on the decline to the left of national democrats, and in this, he is right to be concerned. The Democratic Party has gone full, and Carville seems to keep enough self -awareness to worry about it.
But Thursday, following the adoption of The One Big Beautiful Bill (Get Lost, Chuck Schumer), Carville judged the file, because the forecast of the OBBB would lead to a “mass extinction event” for the Republicans in 2026.
He forgets one thing.
Veteran democratic strategist James Carville said in a recent interview that the bill on tax on tax and republican expenses, which President Trump Signed on Friday, will be considered a “mass extinction event”, providing that the Democratic Party will collect more than 40 seats at home mid-term of 2026.
“And I like with the unified party – each democrat voted against this. Each democrat, whatever the ideology, their ethnicity … We can all come together around this, and we can run on this unique number until 2026. And Paul is right, we are going to take more than 40 seats in the Chamber,” said Carville, the old strategist for the old president Clinton Campaign, said during an appearance Thursday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360. “
The Democrats, granted, have always been good to stay together. They are, after all, much more collectively in mind than most Republicans, as we saw this week with the Senate and the leadership of the GOP which engaged in a serious cat cat so that the OBBB was adopted (barely). But it was done.
President Trump is much more optimistic in mid-term:
Trump hammered the Democrats Thursday evening during his rally at monks, in Iowa, saying that he hates them not to support the massive package and that the Republicans will be able to benefit from these politically when the mid-term elections arise.
“All the things we have done with the tax discounts and the reconstruction of our soldiers, not a democrat voted for us. And I think we use it in the arriving campaign, mid-term,” Trump told the crowd.
“But all the things we have given, and they wouldn’t vote. Only because they hate Trump. But I hate them too. You know it? I really do it, I hate them,” added the president. “I can’t bear them, because I really think they hate our country, you want to know the truth.”
Of course, there is one thing on which all this will depend – and it is something that James Carville, of everyone, should remember: it is the economy, stupid.

So far, since President Trump resumed his duties, the economic indicators have all been good. The gas prices are down, the prices of the grocery store are down, inflation is under control and the markets are doing well. The Americans return to work. OBBB is intended to count all of this, and if it works, then President Trump can be right on the middle.
The mid-term is however always hard for the power in power. But one might think that, of all people, James Carville would be a little more thoughtful on the resurgence of the economy. The mid -terms are always eternity, in the political calendar, but if all this works – if America returns to work, and the economy even bounces to a fraction of what the president and the leaders of the GOP claim it, then the republican majorities should hold, even develop.
The elections almost always relate mainly to the economy. Currently, the GOP has a good argument to do on this subject.
