Here’s how much Gulf Coast region gas prices slightly declined from last week

Regional gas prices fell slightly for the second week in a row and averaged $2.37 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday, down from last week’s price of $2.39 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The average price of fuel in the Gulf Coast region has fallen about 12 cents since last month. Gas prices in the region over the past year have been as low as $2.37 on January 5, 2026, and as high as $2.84 on June 23, 2025, according to the EIA.

A year ago, the average gas price in the Gulf Coast region was 11 percent higher, at $2.66 per gallon.

The average gas price in the United States last week was $2.80, making prices in the Gulf Coast region about 15.2% lower than the national average. The national average gas price is slightly lower than last week’s average of $2.81 per gallon.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s tally of prices in Gulf Coast states includes Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas.
