House Dem Who Called for Marco Rubio to Be Subpoened Over Iran Now Probably Wishes He Hadn’t – RedState

My colleague at RedState, Nick Arama, wrote an excellent article earlier on the VIP side that talked about Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) in the context of Operation Epic Fury, and how the TDS displayed by Democrats and the mainstream media was not just a distraction but also a threat in some cases.
Good-faith arguments and questions should of course be welcomed, Nick stressed, but what we’ve seen from Democrats since the strikes against Iran began goes much more than that.
“What we see is dangerous and disturbing when their Trump Derangement Syndrome/desire to fight Trump trumps what should be their priority: the best interests of the American people,” Nick continued.
To further prove this point, let’s take a look at a rather telling exchange that took place Wednesday during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing.
SEE ALSO (VIP): Only mainstream media could miss the success of the Iran war
The theme of the hearing was “Securing the Future: Arms Control and International Security in the Modern Era.” But the fireworks began early after Democratic Ranking Member Gregory Meeks (NY-05) asked the committee to subpoena Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and Special Envoy for Peace Jared Kushner on the grounds that the Trump administration was not being fully transparent with Congress and the American people.
The motion made by Meeks in his opening statement was ultimately defeated, but not before committee Chairman Brian Mast (FL-21) confronted Meeks for missing numerous classified briefings on Iran that likely would have given him answers to the questions he claimed to have:
Mast, while acknowledging Meeks’ motion, accused him of skipping the day’s classified fly-in briefings on the conflict. The president also said the New York Democrat “showed up 45 minutes late” to a classified briefing last week with the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research.
“If you had been on time, you might have known a little more,” the Florida Republican told Meeks, seated directly to his left.
[…]Mast replied: “Again, I encourage you [to] attend the hearings and information sessions that we have. You would learn a lot and even consider arriving on time. You will learn a lot.
“I hope we no longer see excuses for not showing up for classified briefings,” Mast continued.
Ouch!
Watch:
🚨OMG. Democratic Rep. Meeks just tried to angrily subpoena Sec. Marco Rubio because he is upset at not having “answers” about the war in Iran…
…but he was IMMEDIATELY exposed for ROUTINELY SKIPping his classified secret briefings, which would give him the answers he demands… pic.twitter.com/vK4Sc02SMd

Nice job by Mast for bringing the receipts to exhibit the Democratic theaters presented by Meeks.
This is yet another reason why Democrats cannot be taken seriously or trusted on this issue. When you have plenty of opportunities to attend classified briefings to get more information and ask questions, but you ignore them, then your complaints about supposedly being kept in the dark about what’s going on ring a little hollow.
Editor’s note: For decades, past presidents have done nothing but talk. Now, Donald Trump eliminates the Iranian threat once and for all.
