Sources: Nathaniel Lowe, Boston Red Sox finalizing contract

The first goal player Nathaniel Lowe and the Boston Red Sox finalized an agreement, said sources in ESPN, paving the way to join one of the strongest alignments in baseball.
The agreement, which will be in proportion to the minimum of major leagues after Lowe was appointed for assignment by Washington earlier this month and was not claimed in exemptions, adds a veteran bat to a first base mixture which was uncertain since the knee injury of the Triston Casas season in May.
Lowe, 30, had been a coherent presence for the Texas Rangers in the last four seasons, including their World Series championship in 2023. But after a business off -season with the Nationals, Lowe posted on average career in the stick, in the basic percentage and in percentage of slugging.
Nevertheless, Boston was delighted to bring him, hoping that he can find a resurgence at Fenway Park, where he could well adapt on the left side of a peloton. LOWE has reached 14 circuits in 337 plates against nun on the right this season, displaying an OPS + 20% better than the average of the League.
The Red Sox first divided time between the veterans Abraham Toro against the starters on the right and Romy Gonzalez against the left. In 109 appearances on the plates against left -handers, Gonzalez punits them, striking .354 / .404 / .667. After a strong start to the season, Toro’s performance has weakened in the past five weeks, leaving a potential opportunity for Lowe.
Despite the questions at the start, Boston ranked fourth in the points scored in major leagues with 626 in 125 games, just 14 behind the Big League Los Angeles Dodgers. The Red Sox also have a potential fortification pending in Triple-A, with the recruit Kristian Campbell by handing over his swing, Vaughn Grissom still playing fairly well for an opportunity and the best hope Jhostynxon Garcia striking 17 home circuits in 65 games.
With Lowe who does not claim derogations, nationals will owe him most of the rest of his salary of $ 10.3 million. Lowe will be eligible for arbitration, the next offseason, offering the possibility that Boston could bring him back in 2026.
At 68-57 this season, the Red Sox are tied with the Seattle Mariners for the Top Wild-Card, half a game in front of the New York Yankees. The next team of the Al Al Jildomotor race is Cleveland, which is 3½ games behind New York.
