Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt, known as the villainous antagonist of “The Hills,” is now running for mayor of Los Angeles. In a new, now-viral campaign ad, Pratt, who lost his home in the Palisades fire last year, criticizes current Mayor Karen Bass and her fellow Democratic challenger for the city’s handling of the historic disaster. The ad was viewed more than 10 million times in just 24 hours and is now helping the 42-year-old with no political experience gain ground in the race. NBC’s Liz Kreutz reports for TODAY.
