How to clean your Dyson stick vacuum: Upkeep tips from a pro

I will jump the guilt trip for how long it has been since you have cleaned your Dyson stick vacuum – not just to empty the dust tank, but to In fact cleaned it.

Admittedly, unless you are a noisy and proud outtomer, it is boring and dirty work that often gets old treatment “is a problem for the future”. Here is my step by step guide on how to clean your Dyson stick vacuum. Step 1: Put gloves and suck it. It will be disgusting, but it will be worth it.

How to clean a Dyson filter

The loss of aspiration is a common reproach among the Dyson vacuum owners. If your dyson spits debris or leaves fur behind it, the filter can be obstructed.

Dyson stick vacuum cleaners are equipped with HEPA filters that catch suspended particles in dust, pet squams, bacteria and mold, diverting odors and allergens from infiltration in your consciousness while you clean. But the Dyson filters are not immortal, and all the rudeness they have captured is not content to evaporate. Dust and hair accumulate over time (especially if you have pets) and, possibly, the filter begins to suffocate. A complete filter directly inhibits the air flow of a vacuum and undermines the suction power.

To clean a stick dyson vacuum filter, locate the colorful end of the portable part (it is probably purple or turquoise) and twist. I am dismayed by the dirt that my Dyson filter is every time I unscrew it, and I even wash it as regularly as you are supposed to do it. First of all, remove as many pieces as large as possible – I physically draw tufts of cat hair and I type them on the side of the trash to shake any loose dust. Then rinse the filter under fresh running water and slightly rub the mesh with your fingers /

After washing, Dyson filters must be left out to dry for at least 24 hours, but ideally two days. Hair rolled up at each end of the brush roll is inevitable, even if the brush roller does a good job to prevent entry into the middle. (I find that it is mainly my own long hair, not cat hair.) Hair is injured quite closely and can be too thick from a packet to tear off by hand. The best way to clean the hair wrapped in a Dyson brush roller is to keep an old pair of small acute eyebrow scissors at hand and to literally cut them.

Disassembling the cleaning head is also the way you will remove all stuck items that are accidentally sucked. Wireless Dyson vacuum cleaners with a screen can specify the problem with an “blocked airways” error, but if not, you can often hear that something is a bit off with the air flow. My cats tear the brown packaging paper as if it were their work, that I constantly withdraw from the cleaning head of my dyson.

For Dyson V12 Detect Slim, V15 Detect, Gen5outsize or Gen5detect, the flexible microfiber-ish brush inside the laser head has washing requirements similar to the filter. Rub the brush roller with soap and water until its normal dyson colors are restored. This should also be left out to dry for at least 24 hours.

Do not forget to thoroughly clean the trash

From time to time, the dust tank of your Dyson stick should be cleaned by emptying it simply when it is full. After throwing out all the debris, take a wet cloth or a paper towel and wipe the inside of the trash.

Why does my dyson stink?

Again, a dirty filter or a brush roll is probably the culprit of a malodious dyson vacuum. If your dyson feels the dog, for example, remember that all of your dog’s loss and dims are literally living in your dyson trash can and filter for weeks. When the filter is too full to capture more odors, the smell cannot help swelling whenever you run your vacuum.

Be sure not to push your Dyson stick emptiness on any liquid. The hair of the engine or soft material in mosquito net of the laser head will always wipe this, in the end in a smell of softness reminiscent of the soggy towels. Past soap and water, hypochlore acid spray is a secure pet disinfectant that is excellent to neutralize odors linked to pets and humidity.
