Hunter safety class offered in Stevens Point in June

STEVENS POINT − The Portage County Sheriff’s Office will host an in-person hunter safety course in June in Stevens Point.

The course will be held in the Portage County Sheriff’s Office training room on June 22, 23, 25 and 30, according to a community announcement. Each session will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A field day is planned for June 27 at the Dewey Range from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The course is open to anyone, but the materials are designed for students ages 11 and up, according to the announcement.

Administrators charge a $10 fee and participants can register on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources website at https://gowild.wi.gov/customers/safetyedclass.
