Israel struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon on Monday evening, according to an IDF statement released Tuesday.

The statement said that “the IDF recently attacked, under the leadership of the Northern Command and through the Air Force, the infrastructures of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in several areas of southern Lebanon.”

“As part of these attacks, the IDF attacked a training complex used by the “Radwan Force” unit of the terrorist organization Hezbollah to train and train the organization’s terrorists, for the planning and execution of terrorist plots against IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel.

The Israeli military said the training complex was used for shooting exercises and additional training in the use of various types of weapons.

Other military structures and a missile launch site were also reportedly targeted in the attack.

Continued efforts against Hezbollah

The strikes were part of the IDF’s broader, ongoing attempts to combat and destroy Hezbollah’s rearmament capabilities following the failure of attempts to disarm the Iranian-backed Lebanese terrorist organization.

On Sunday, the IDF destroyed an abandoned Hezbollah terrorist tunnel containing mortar shells intended for use against Israel, as well as a warehouse previously used by Hezbollah to store weapons.

On Friday, the IDF struck several Hezbollah targets located in civilian areas around the villages of Jibaa and Mahrouna. Residents were advised to evacuate at least 300 meters from target areas before the attack.

The strike successfully targeted several Hezbollah weapons stores.

The IDF’s Arabic-speaking spokesman, Col. Avichay Adraee, said the aim of the strikes was to “respond to Hezbollah’s prohibited attempts to rebuild its activities in the region.”
