IKEA living room trends for summer: playful colors and open storage for a welcoming space that’s packed with personality

This summer, I’m yearning for a little more color in my home. I want spaces that exude joy and are packed with personality. Below, I’ve shared my current IKEA wishlist, designed to help me achieve exactly that.
IKEA’s new summer range is crammed with color. I’ve been especially won over by the new-look Billy bookcase, and I love the idea of using that same vibrant, electric blue as an accent color in my decor. It works especially well when pared with more muted — but still playful and striking — pastels, as well as neutrals in the form of bare wood or natural fibers. I love the new range of modular storage that uses unexpected pops of color — as seen on this Eket cabinet, for example.
I’m thinking of holding back on patterns and instead installing some open storage to let my possessions deliver the interest in the space. IKEA has glass-fronted cabinets and open shelving that’ll fit the bill perfectly and make an ideal base for my bits and pieces, paired with picture ledges and hooks for some wall-mounted additions.
