Iranian FM Spox Melts Down Over X Checkmarks, Gets a Brutal Reality Check – RedState

The Iranian regime is full of delusional officials.
However, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei might be fighting for the crown for the most ridiculous remark. He is the one we talked about earlier and who claimed that Iran was a “superpower”, just like the United States. It was pretty bad.

Then, this morning, Baghaei got angry at X for removing the checkmarks from the Iranian regime’s accounts.

X a maintenant supprimé le chèque bleu du compte du porte-parole du ministère iranien des Affaires étrangères – après avoir supprimé les badges vérifiés du ministère et du ministre – malgré nos paiements complets Premium+. This arbitrary deverification fits X’s pattern of selective censorship and US digital hacking, aimed at suppressing the truth about the US’s illegal war against Iran.
Oh, boo hoo. Cry more. I thought you were a “superpower”, and you’re complaining about a checkmark?
They’re lucky to even be allowed to be on X.
But what’s truly offensive about all of this is that Baghaei is picking on a tick when the regime has been cutting off the internet to ordinary Iranians for over two months now. This has seriously harmed people and businesses, cutting them off from friends and family. It even hurts the economy, which doesn’t help the regime, but the regime probably believes it is stopping people who might want to protest or communicate against the government. If you post from Iran now, you’re either connected to the regime or stealthily connecting to the internet via a VPN, with what is likely an expensive workaround that could land you in serious trouble.
People let them do it, big time.
I am Iranian.
Your disgusting terrorist regime just cut off the Internet to 90 MILLION PEOPLE for 65 days straight, like the cowardly barbarians that you are.
You have cut Iranians off from the world.

He’s one of those guys who takes the risk, posting against the regime, with a VPN from Iran. You can see this if you look at “Connected via” in the person’s profile.

“I have a blue check mark, not you, loser, go cry,” the brave person Baghaei taunted.
I don’t know the official reason for the removal, but repeatedly posting false information may result in penalties.
Elon Musk, the owner of X, is expected to offer them a deal. He will pay them back if they free the Internet for the Iranian people. They won’t, but it will further show how hypocritical they are.
Editor’s note: For decades, past presidents have done nothing but talk. Now, Donald Trump eliminates the Iranian threat once and for all.
