Trump’s ICE Agents Killed a Citizen. Then Damning New Details Emerged.

An ICE agent killed a woman in her vehicle on the streets of Minneapolis on Wednesday. She would have been an American citizen. But then President Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made their own conduct even more damning by placing blame on the victim and insisting that the officer acted in self-defense. The video Trump released falls far short of supporting his claims. Other videos strongly suggested that the officer was not in a life-threatening situation at all and that the use of deadly force was in no way justified, and Minnesota officials vehemently supported that. DHS officials later disclosed that the agent violated use of force protocol. We spoke to New Republic Felipe De La Hoz, editor, who writes well on ICE accountability. We discuss the collapse of government, how this saga highlights ICE’s deepening lawlessness, and what needs to happen to bring this rogue agency under control. Listen to this episode here.
