Jayden Reed injury update: Packers WR dealing with foot sprain, ‘hopeful’ to be back before Week 1

The leader receiver of Green Bay Packers last season, Jayden Reed, missed the first pre-season game of the team on Saturday, a 30-10 defeat against the New York Jets.
While Reed was photographed in a walking boot before the match at the Field Lambeau, coach Matt Lafleur said he hoped that Star Wideout will be ready when the regular packer season begins at home against the Detroit lions on September 7.
Lefleur said the boot was not linked to the pre -existing toe injury that Reed had entered the training camp. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, a source informed him that Reed was faced with a trampled foot which left him “day by day”. Lefleur said Reed would be, “let’s hope,” for the opening of the season.
Reed was also interviewed and spoke of the injury insofar as he appeared at ease.
“I do not want to be wrong about anything, so I will not be the only one to say it,” said Reed before being pushed further on the situation. “I mean, I just gotten my foot to be wrong and I’m a little painful.”
Reed, a second round choice of the state of Michigan in the draft of the NFL 2023, led the packers with 55 receptions on 75 targets for 857 yards last season. He caught six Touché passes, placing him second in the team behind the winger tight Tucker Kraft.
After Saturday’s match, Lefleur added: “Each time you see a guy in a bunch that is a concern.”
