A suicide note allegedly written by sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was released Wednesday by a federal judge after being sealed for years.

In the purported note, Epstein suggests his innocence without proclaiming it while promising to “say goodbye” on his own terms.

“They investigated me for a month – DID NOT FIND ANYTHING!!!” the note begins before stating that the accusations date back 15 years.

“It’s a treat to be able to choose your time to say goodbye,” the note continues. “Watcha wants me to do – Stop crying!! NO FUN.”

The note ends with the words “THIS IS NOT WORTHY!!! ” underlines.

Epstein’s cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, allegedly discovered the note when the billionaire was “found unconscious with a strip of cloth wrapped around his neck” — an attempt he survived for weeks before being found dead at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Lower Manhattan, according to the New York Times:

The memo was released Wednesday by Judge Kenneth M. Karas of the federal district court in White Plains, New York, who oversaw the cellmate’s case. The judge acted after The New York Times asked the court last Thursday to unseal the document and published an article in which Mr. Tartaglione described the note and how it came into his possession.

The Times has not authenticated the memo, which was filed in the court docket Wednesday evening. The note repeats a saying – “burst out crying” – that Mr. Epstein wrote in emails. It included another phrase – “No fun” – that Mr. Epstein also used in his emails, as well as in a separate note found in his prison cell at the time of his death.

The memo comes after the Justice Department released millions of pages related to Epstein. Tartaglione, the former cellmate, said he found the note in a graphic novel after Epstein was taken from his cell following a botched suicide attempt.

“I opened the book to read it and there it was,” Tartaglione said.

At the time, however, Epstein claimed that Tartaglione attacked him and that he was not suicidal — an accusation that Tartaglione repeatedly denied.

“This memo is apparently part of a long-running legal dispute between Mr. Tartaglione’s lawyers,” added the Times. “Documents related to the dispute have been placed under court seal to protect attorney-client privilege, the documents state.”
