Karoline Leavitt Decimates Dems Over Disgraceful Statement About Lengths to Which They’ll Push Shutdown – RedState

Democrats are in a hole with Schumer shutting down.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) can’t decide which discussion topic to remove. First, he claimed that “every day” became “better” for them with the closure.

Then, after receiving backlash about it, he suddenly complains that workers aren’t getting paid. But he is the one who delays the vote.

House Republicans are paid and not working

and they force federal workers to work and not get paid.

He says House Republicans are paid — but all members of Congress who don’t step down are paid, including him. And House Republicans all voted to keep the government open, so it makes no sense. Schumer is just spouting nonsense. It is his fault, as well as that of his fellow Democratic senators, for not passing the continuing resolution in the Senate.

Their left-wing base urges them to continue. The group Indivisible said it would hold a rally on Oct. 18 and encourage Democrats or “call for new leadership.” [if they don’t hold out]“This clearly shows that the Democrats are being led by the nose by their left wing.

Meanwhile, Democrats have said they are prepared to hold on, according to CNN. Their headline clearly proclaimed that “even missed U.S. troops’ paychecks alone would not be enough to end the shutdown.”

Some people are concerned about this tactic (as they should be).

Within the party, anxiety rises among Democrats vulnerable over active-duty military military missing a paycheck on October 15 – something that hasn’t happened on a large scale in modern times. [….]

But so far, they’re holding on because they think they have “public perception.” I don’t think that’s the case. But here is the disgusting statement they made about how long they would last.

Another senior Democratic official said that as long as public perception was in its favor, the party would not give in unless “planes were falling out of the sky.”

The statement was immediately decimated by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who called it “one of the most disgusting statements I have ever read.”

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy also blasted the Democrats’ comment.

Air traffic controllers are considered essential employees, so they must work. However, Duffy said some were not arriving due to the closure, which could explain shortages that also caused traffic delays.

But Democrats have absolutely no idea how despicable and petty they appear today.
