Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock dead at 48
The former husband of Kelly Clarkson and the father of her two children died after a three -year battle against cancer, his representative said on Thursday.
He was 48 years old.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has died,” said a Blackstock spokesperson in a statement.
“Brandon courageously fought for cancer for more than three years. He died peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and asking everyone to respect the intimacy of the family during this very difficult period.”
Clarkson announced Wednesday that she was postponing the rest of her “studio session” concerts to Las Vegas this month to support her family.
The star of “American Idol” told fans on Instagram that she favored the needs of her relatives.
“Although I normally keep my private personal life last year, the father of my children was sick and at the moment, I must be fully present for them,” wrote the triple winner of the Grammy.
