CORONA, California, November 14 — Centennial now leads 41-6.

Centennial finally broke through in the regular season, defeating Mater Dei, 43-36, on September 12, ending a series drought that stretched back a decade.
Now the Huskies head into the season hoping to break through to the postseason to win a California state championship and possibly a national title to go with it. They’ll begin their journey Friday night against the Servites, and they’ll have to be careful not to get caught out as they look ahead.
Indeed, a potential rematch against Mater Dei looms in the second round if the Monarchs take care of business against Mission Viejo.
It’s all happening in the quarterfinals of the CIF California Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.
