The Justice Department began releasing final documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Friday, with a massive trove of documents showing mostly photos and heavily redacted documents categorized into four different sections.

The DOJ released four different datasets Friday afternoon including thousands of photos, New York grand jury documents and evidence related to the Epstein investigations. The documents and photos were published on the official DOJ website.

Epstein was a well-connected financier who rubbed shoulders with the highest echelons of government and the private sector. He was convicted of sex trafficking of minors in 2008 and served just over a year of incarceration, which also included a controversial work release agreement as part of a plea deal.

He was arrested again in 2019 on sex trafficking charges before being found dead in his Manhattan jail cell by suicide that same year, officials reported.

DATASET ONE:

The first dataset shows thousands of photos of the interiors and exteriors of Epstein’s properties, including New York and his private island, Little St. James.

DATASET TWO:

The second dataset released shows Epstein in personal photos with high-profile figures, including former President Bill Clinton. Photos in the second dataset show Epstein shirtless, sitting on a couch, standing near a helicopter, and numerous photos of him on boats.

One photo in the series showed Clinton shirtless in a hot tub.

Asked about the photo, Clinton spokesperson Angel Urena directed Fox Digital to a statement it released on X in response to Epstein’s fall.

“The White House has not been hiding these files for months and throwing them out late on a Friday to protect Bill Clinton,” he wrote. “It’s about protecting themselves from what comes next, or what they’ll try to hide forever. So they can post as many grainy 20+ year old photos as they want, but it’s not about Bill Clinton. It never was and never will be. Even Susie Wiles said Donald Trump was wrong about Bill Clinton.”

Urena said there were “two types of people” involved in the Epstein scandal: those who were unaware of Epstein’s crimes and cut him out of their lives after his conviction and a second group of people who “continued their relationships with him after” his crimes came to light.

“We’re in the first group. No amount of hesitation from people in the second group is going to change that,” Clinton’s spokesperson continued. “Everyone, especially MAGA, wants answers, not scapegoats.”

DATASET FOUR:

The fourth dataset in the document list primarily showed evidence and exhibits from the Epstein investigations, including documents dated 2005 and 2006, when police and the FBI in Palm Beach, Florida, began investigating Epstein for information regarding potential sex trafficking.

President Donald Trump signed a bipartisan law in November that required the Justice Department to disclose all “unclassified records, documents, communications and investigative materials” within 30 days of Trump signing it.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said Friday morning during an appearance on Fox News that the department was preparing to “release several hundred thousand documents today,” while adding that the DOJ planned to release “more documents over the next couple of weeks.”

The Epstein Files Transparency Act specifically directs the Department of Justice to disclose all unclassified files and investigative materials related to Epstein and his longtime partner Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as records related to individuals who were referenced in Epstein’s prior legal cases, details surrounding the trafficking allegations, internal DOJ communications regarding Epstein, and all details surrounding the investigation into his death.
