At long last, the Denver Broncos have agreed on an extension that will bring Courtland Sutton back into the fold. The star wide receiver had been holding out of training camp in search of a new deal, and he gets that in the form of a four-year, $92 million deal.

Sutton has become one of the most important members of this young and dynamic Broncos team, and especially a solid veteran weapon for Bo Nix. Now, he gets to remain with Denver for the next four seasons, at least.

Sutton put together a 2024 campaign that included 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns. His ability to jump and secure contested balls makes him one of the most dangerous receivers in the game, and Denver has locked him up for multiple years.

The Broncos became a team that nobody quite saw coming in 2024. Behind rookie quarterback Nix, the team eked into the playoffs. Granted, they did so with the Miami Dolphins having a full-on collapse, but Denver was deserving of the trip.

Now, the Broncos get another chance to chase the postseason, and can do so without the issue of paying Sutton hanging over the team’s head.

Where Does Broncos’ Courtland Sutton Land in WR Pay?

With Sutton landing a new $92 million extension, this places his annual amount at $23 million per season.

Though Sutton’s deal is certainly not record-breaking like Ja’Marr Chase getting $40 million per season from the Cincinnati Bengals, $23 million per season is definitely respectable.

Sutton is now in the top 20 of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL. Once the numbers are updated, he will be tied with Tennessee Titans star Calvin Ridley.

What are Courtland Sutton’s Stats?

As stated, Sutton went over the 1,000-yard mark in 2024, and that is only the second time he has done so in his career with the Broncos. The first time was during the 2019 season when he secured 1,112 yards and six touchdowns.

Sutton has spent the entire seven years of his career with the Broncos, bringing in 5,340 yards and 32 touchdowns in that time.

Sutton remains a major leader and offensive playmaker for the Broncos, and his new extension is proof of his skill set and dedication to the organization.

Now, time will tell if the Broncos can shock the NFL world again in 2025 and become a true contender in the AFC.
