Motorcyclist killed after striking animal on Highway 18 in Piñon Hills
A motorcyclist has died following a crash Friday evening along Highway 18 in Piñon Hills, authorities said.
Arturo Villanueva Rivera, 39, of Victorville, died in the crash, according to San Bernardino County coroner’s officials.
The intersection of Highway 18 and Descanso Road in Piñon Hills.
It happened around 8:15 p.m. on May 1 on the highway, also known as Palmdale Road, near Descanso Road in the unincorporated area of San Bernardino County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses called 911 and reported that “the motorcyclist struck an animal and was ejected from the motorcycle,” according to coroner’s records.
He died from his injuries at the scene.
No further details were available Saturday afternoon.
