The Milwaukee Bucks have had a nightmare in recent seasons. Since winning the NBA championship in 2021, they had struggled to get back to the top of the Eastern Conference, let alone the league.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the face of the franchise, but it appears he’s on his way out with an upcoming offseason trade. At the same time, it could be at the heart of the team’s current culture problem.
Myles Turner exposes some of the Bucks’ worrying problems
For a long time, the Bucks were considered one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. With players like Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday, they had a stable team culture.
Unfortunately, that all fell apart, as Giannis is the only player left in that core group. Now it seems like a lot of players have opted out, including Antetokounmpo.

During his first year with the Bucks, Myles Turner saw many problems within the team’s culture. This was especially evident during team activities, as many players arrived late and were not punished for it.
“Doc Rivers, he couldn’t find anyone. Guys were late all the time, guys were showing up to film when they wanted to show up, and guys were missing meetings. It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever experienced,” Turner said on her podcast Game Recognize Game with Breanna Stewart.
“If the plane took off at 2:00 p.m., we left at 4:30 p.m. I’m so serious…Giannis is going to show up whenever he wants, really. I think it just comes with the territory.”

Comments on the delay of players, and Giannis in particular. This led to the two-time MVP throwing shade at Turner on X, telling people to mind their own business.
It gets complicated in Milwaukee, and it could clear up if Giannis is traded. If that doesn’t happen, new head coach Taylor Jenkins will likely establish a new culture that holds everyone accountable.
