The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has published guidelines to assist businesses with their food safety management systems and the detection and control of Listeria.
It was published as part of the FSAI’s response to recent listeriosis outbreaks, including one in Ireland in 2025 and another in the United States, both linked to ready-to-heat (pre-cooked) meals. The FSAI said these outbreaks highlight the risks associated with products if effective controls are not in place.
