Netanyahu knows gov’t survival hinges on Gaza invasion, IDF source says
Tsahos officials believe that the fighting in Gaza could continue for several months, the army preparing by sending calls to some 60,000 reservists earlier this week.
The FDI is preparing for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to follow plans to invade and occupy the city of Gaza, due to the understanding that its government would collapse otherwise, sources said in the Israeli army Maariv SATURDAY.
“The impression is that the Prime Minister is going with the operation … He understands that he cannot keep his government without him – he will collapse,” said a source from the Defense establishment.
Tsahos officials believe that the fighting in Gaza could continue for several months, the army preparing by sending calls to some 60,000 reservists earlier this week. The IDF provides that future calls are made in an incremental manner, with more recovery orders which should be sent in early November, with the rest in early December and January.
The FDIs may have to fight Hamas until the last terrorist is killed ‘
Before the expected invasion, a security source assessed that Hamas “no longer works as a military force” in Gaza, adding that the FDI struck “all its superior officers, with only a handful of battalions to play”.
However, Israel must prepare for the possibility that he should fight Hamas until the last terrorist is killed, said the source.
“You have to understand that we are dealing with an irrational terrorist organization. It can take the chance to keep us away (from Gaza) or that it will fight until the last terrorist is killed.”

Netanyahu said Thursday that he had approved FDI buyout plans for Gaza City, restarting hostage negotiations and putting an end to the war on Israel.
“We are at a decisive stadium,” he said during the visit to the Gaza division. “I arrived today at the Gaza division to approve the plans that presented me with the FDI and the Minister of Defense for the takeover of Gaza City and the defeat of Hamas.”
Netanyahu said he had directed “the immediate initiation of negotiations” for the release of all hostages and ending the war in Gaza under the conditions of Israel. Currently, no Israeli delegation will leave for Doha or Qatar, he added.
“These two objectives – overcome Hamas and secure the release of all our hostages – go hand in hand,” he said.
Netanyahu was impressed by the plans presented to him at the Gaza division, said a political source The Jerusalem post. “The plans are solid,” said the source.
