This week, Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. spoke with NFL Films producer Jeff Cameron.

In his interview with Easton Jr., Cameron, a longtime NFL Films producer who directed the new HBO documentary “The Shuffle,” based on the iconic 1985 Chicago Bears song and music video, discussed the short film. He also reflected on memorable soundbites and images of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes during his 2022 battle with Las Vegas Raiders defensive lineman Maxx Crosby.

“The 40th anniversary of the ’85 Bears and the ‘Super Bowl Shuffle,’ once they’re on our radar, we’re always looking for the good, dwelling on things like that. A 40th anniversary, especially with something as sensational and as successful as the shuffle,” Cameron said, “It was certainly on our radar from the start, and then with this new series of short documentaries that we’re producing in partnership with HBO, it just seemed ripe for this format, not long enough for a 90-minute feature, certainly not multi-part, but a story that we could tell but also dive deep for about 40 minutes, really hyper-focused on this single moment, these 12 weeks between conception and the Super Bowl, we were really interested in and I think it worked.”

One of Cameron’s many production projects includes the Netflix docuseries “Quarterback” and “Receiver.” He recalled the moment between Mahomes and Crosby in the first season of “Quarterback.”

“When a moment like that happens, you know you have something special at that particular moment. I remember when that happened, of course, in the NFL films, we knew (Patrick) Mahomes was on the mic on the show at that moment, but no one else did,” Cameron said. audio, and we’re just really excited to show people that we got it and put it on the show. What a historic moment.
