Nosh Robotics’ $1,500 robot chef doesn’t need any help with dinner

Anyone wanting to spend less time preparing meals might have a solution in the form of Nosh Robotics’ recently launched Nosh One, an AI kitchen device that can autonomously cook for you.
Users simply load their ingredients into the robot tray and then select a recipe. The Nosh One adds the ingredients to its pot at the appropriate time, stirs everything together, uses AI to monitor the ingredients with a built-in camera, and finishes the meal without needing any intervention along the way. The Nosh app notifies users when the meal is ready. They can also use the app to view and edit recipes and plan meals. The Nosh One is capable of preparing more than 500 dishes, but users can also add their own by describing what they want to cook in natural language and letting the robot’s AI generate a recipe for them.
The robot chef is available for pre-order on Kickstarter, where it currently starts at $1,499. According to Nosh Robotics, delivery will begin this summer. Upgrades on Kickstarter include additional accessories and a lifetime subscription to Nosh’s Culinary+, which gives users access to all of the robot’s recipes and the ability to edit and create 50 recipes per year.
The edgeJennifer Pattison Tuohy of Jennifer Pattison Tuohy reviewed a very similar robot called Posha last year, which costs the same as the Nosh One, features a nearly identical design, and also offers to automate cooking with the help of AI. However, the Nosh One has one significant difference: a fully sealed cooking chamber that can be closed while cooking. Unlike the Posha, the Nosh One’s pot and blending arm are completely covered when the processor door is closed, which could help prevent splashes and fumes from escaping.
