Nothing’s New Phone (3) and Headphone (1) Look Nothing Like You’ve Seen Before
The phone has a grid design with three columns, representing the flexible printed circuit cards below. The triple camera system is arranged along these grids with the display of the glyph matrix – more on that in a second. It is an unusual style that stands out from circular or rectangular camera modules in most phones.
The matrix of glyphs is an evolution of the famous LEDs of glyphs of nothing on previous phones. Originally designed to light up when the notifications arrived, it also used the lights in a creative way to show how long has been on a timer, or how close your Uber driver was. The new glyph matrix can do all of this and more, because it acts more like a screen.
Nothing has shown several new “glyph toys” launched with the phone, such as the possibility of seeing a pixelated overview of yourself so that you can take selfies with the rear cameras. There is also a game of Spin-the-Bottle bottles, a Magic 8 bullet that gives you an answer when you shake the phone, and even a game of rock paper scrushes. Intuitively, there is a small touch circle below that you can use to browse these modes, instead of having to switch constantly from front to back in the menu of the front screen settings of the phone. Nothing has launched a software developer kit, so that anyone can create glyph toys for the phone.
Another fun characteristic is the small red square on the back. Originally on the phone (2A), it is now more than a simple design accent. It lights up when you record a video, as is a recording light.
The phone may not have the high -end Snapdragon 8 Elite, opting rather for the slightly lower Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, but it should always offer flagship performance, and the rest of the rival specification competitors, especially at the price of $ 799. The use of a silicon-carbon battery is particularly remarkable, relatively new technology that allows dense batteries in thinner conceptions. Although it is slightly thicker than its predecessor (0.2 mm), 5 150 mAh is decently larger than the 4,700 mAh in the phone (2).
