This is a pair of latest generation Samsung earphones that are still great and match well with Samsung Galaxy mobile phones, with added app support, one-touch pairing, noise cancellation and impressive sound quality for the price. One area where Samsung’s headphones shine is sound quality. They have a big, bold sound with lots of detail from mids to highs, and a fairly wide soundstage. The result is a pleasantly robust listening experience, with one minor note worth mentioning. The earbuds come with volume normalization turned off, resulting in garbled audio, and you’ll need to connect them to a Samsung phone to turn the setting off. Once you do, it sounds much better and you can even tweak them further with the Wear app’s nine-band EQ.
They also excel at active noise cancellation, something other headphones at this price don’t always handle as well. It works best with low-frequency noises, like the whir of an airplane engine, and has adjustable levels so you can go from almost complete silence to transparency mode for a quick conversation. It doesn’t really compete with some of the best headphones on the market, but it should be more than enough for most people. Microphone quality is also excellent, with impressive noise isolation for crystal clear calls, and you can even take advantage of transparency mode for some talkback, which is also adjustable in the app.
