Outrageous Reactions by the Hypocrites in Legacy Media About DC National Guard Terror Attack – RedState

We talked earlier about the horrific terrorist attack on two National Guard members in Washington, DC, near the White House on Wednesday. The suspect was also injured and is in police custody.

President Donald Trump intervened, as did the Department of Homeland Security, asking for prayers for injured Guard members. West Virginia Gov. Pat Morrisey initially reported that both Guard members had died, but later walked back those comments, saying there were “conflicting reports.”

In the wake of such a horrific event, one would hope that the media and everyone involved would be circumspect in their comments.

Then you have people like Ken Dilanian from MS NOW. It wasn’t the right thing to say, as our sister site Townhall reported.

“[O]Of course, you know, there’s so much controversy in the United States right now with ICE, also wearing uniforms and masks. And so there are, you don’t know, people walking around in uniform in an American city. Some Americans might object. And so apparently this shooting happened.”

It’s quite disgusting,

Then it was this rant from ABC’s Aaron Katersky.

“The focus will be on whether these guards were specifically targeted. If so, that would fit with what we’ve been hearing from law enforcement officials for several months now, that certain political flashpoints in the country, whether it’s the administration’s immigration policies, the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, even in the midst of a tenuous ceasefire, those kinds of flashpoints have made people in uniform, whether they are military, law enforcement, government officials, people in uniform, increasingly numerous targets of the upcoming investigation.

The New Yorker’s Jane Mayer also chimed in with a gruesome version. The twisted effort to blame the administration and diminish National Guard service in Washington is truly despicable.

It’s so tragic, so unnecessary; these poor guards should never have been deployed. I live in Washington DC and saw that they basically had nothing to do but pick up trash. It was for a political spectacle and at what cost.

So it’s the fault of the “deployment”, not the fault of the person who shot them. And their deployment was not a “political demonstration”: it helped lower the crime rate in Washington, and even Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser had to admit it. Mayer does not seem to understand the concept that their very presence tends to deter people who might engage in criminal activity. She also attacks them when she says they are doing nothing, even though they have been very effective.

As we reported, the FBI believes it was an ambush. So why are these members of the mainstream media trying to blame the administration and the “uniforms”? Where was their condemnation for those who demonized the National Guard before this?

The media, of course, don’t want to go there.
