Patriots-Giants preseason takeaways: Rookie Jaxson Dart ends strong preseason on sour note

The Giants of the New England Patriots and New York put pre-season in bed. The two clubs clashed Thursday evening for their last summer exhibition, and it was the Giants who finished the pre-season on a winning note with a 42-10 victory at the Metlife Stadium.
The two teams decided not to play their starters in this pre-season match, which means that Drake Maye, Russell Wilson, Malik Nabers, Treveyon Henderson and others were simple spectators for this competition. While the power of the stars lacked, the scenarios were not. The list battles were still taking place, and the giants obtained what could be their last look at the recruit phenomenon Jaxson Dart – which had a final from top to bottom – for a while.
Below, you can find our notable observations of this exhibition.
Jaxson Dart at a time coachable
He is human after all. As for 99% of the pre-season, Dart looked like a veteran. Despite being the 25th choice in total a few months ago, the recruit showed a huge command each time it was under the center of this pre-season. It doesn’t matter if he had pressure on his face or had to throw on the race, Dart delivered. Even in this pre-season final against New England, the Ole Miss product began the match (her first departure) with her fire hair, which included a gain of 50 yards to the Olszewski shooter on the way to a touch on the possession of opening.
While the Dart media gear is still at full speed, it has struck a minor slowdown in the exhibition. During the fourth possession of New York night and faced with a situation of fourth and 4, Dart scrambled the middle for a gain of 23 yards. However, instead of going down a few meters earlier, the recruit tried to fight for additional yards and ended up groping. The Patriots have recovered, but the turnover was canceled due to a defense penalty.
Even if it was erased, it is a coachable moment for Brian Daboll to instill in his young quarter-rear at a few levels. First of all, the security of the ball is greater than an additional or two additional courts. Second, the shift must be his best friend not only to protect football, but also protect himself.
After the game, Dart was removed from the game and evaluated for a head injury, but was authorized. However, it was the last moment for the young quarter of the match (and pre-season), ending what was otherwise a stellar summer on a little sour note.
Did Greg Dulcich do enough to make the list of 53 men?
Do you remember Greg Dulcich? The old tight end of Denver Broncos who was a fantastic football darling for more than two months in 2022? Well, it could crush the depth painting from New York. The first two final points are already solidified for the Giants with Theo Johnson as a Starter and Chris Manhertz as a main blocker. While Daniel Bellinger can be considered the next man on the depth painting, Dulcich could have something to say about it. The veteran set up a strong pre-season and ended his summer with an impressive performance against the patriots. He caught his four targets for 26 yards and two affected, including a score of 7 yards from Jaxson Dart during the opening of the match. This is the second consecutive week that Dulcich found the goal area.
Only special teams can save Javon Baker
The Battle of the Large Angleterre Large Receiver is one of the most intriguing aspects of the imminent team cup. For the moment, he looks like Stefon Diggs, Mack Hollins, Demario Douglas, Kyle Williams and Kayshon Boutte will constitute the first five slots in the position. If they go with six widths wide, this last place is likely to the summer of Darling Efton Chism III, a free agent not drafted in eastern Washington.
This is now where it becomes interesting. Can Patriots continue and hold seven (!) Receivers on the list of 53 men? For me, it seems unlikely, but if that is what takes place, the last player to land on the depth board would be Javon Baker. And he would have his game on special teams to thank.
Baker was an artilleryman for the Patriots this summer and played well enough in this role, making games in special teams throughout the pre-season. This includes bringing the giants who run the Ballon Dante Miller to make a return of a boot of clearance, which the patriots recovered Thursday evening.
Again, it seems that Baker’s difficulties as a receiver could prove to be his disappearance in his quest for landing on the list (at least one drop and an opi against New York), but his game on special teams gives him a glimmer of hope.
New England has rotated the center of the center and the left guard throughout the last part of the summer, but the old first round choice made no favors in the hope of locking one or the other position. Aduce in the center, Strange had a consecutive sequence of bad game which will not painted it in the best light. After recovering a booty of stifled clearance and put the ball deeply in New York territory, Strange had a bad exchange with the quarterrière Ben Wooldridge, and the ball struck the ground. A game later, Strange was beaten inside and held his opponent, pushing the 10 -meter offensive.
Not ideal when you fight for a place on the list of 53 men.
Kyle Dugger is accompanied by intruders in the midst of an uncertain future
Kyle Dugger may have just played his latest match for the New England Patriots because the security of the veterans was at the center of commercial rumors during last week. This comes the day after falling on the 29 -year -old depth board in a rescue role behind Jabrill Peppers and the Craig Woodson recruit. Although the days of Dugger in Foxborough can be counted, he showed that he could contribute somewhere in the NFL. In the pre-season final, Dugger has accumulated six plated and broke two passes, including interception in the jameis Winston goals. It can be too late to get a place with the patriots, but it can make it even more attractive on the commercial market.
