Pennsylvania Town Elects Transgender Mayor

The town of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, in Chester County – population about 9,000 – has elected as its next mayor a man who believes he is a woman.
Democrat Erica Deuso defeated Republican Richard Bryant in the mayor’s race, declaring victory early Wednesday.
“Tonight the numbers are clear,” Deuso said. “We won. Voters chose hope, decency and a community where every neighbor matters. I am honored to have been elected Pennsylvania’s first openly transgender mayor. I take on this responsibility with care and determination.”
“This victory is not about one person. It is about what happens when people choose progress over fear, facts over noise, and results over excuses,” Deuso continued. “Leadership can be compassionate, practical and focused on what works. »
Deuso describes herself as a “process efficiency expert” and “champion for fair labor, education, gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights” on her X profile, with the preferred pronouns “she” and “her.”
During a previous campaign for state representative for Chester County’s District 155, Deuso spoke about his experiences, as detailed by the Philadelphia Gay News, which quoted him as saying he “never experienced transphobia or hatred from a former student — although he witnessed childhood homophobia and transphobia when I was a student.”
“Everyone I graduated with has been amazing, accepting and even curious. So seeing right-wing extremists take over my old school district is disappointing and I feel like it sets Hanover and the district back 30 years,” he said.
The outlet said Deuso “fell in love” with socialized medicine while a student in Copenhagen and was a strong advocate for “gender-affirming” care – left-wing parlance for hormone therapy, puberty blockers and genital mutilation surgeries.
“It’s been a journey to understand health care — and understand not only myself, but others and the struggles that other people face when trying to get health care, especially in the LGBTQ community,” Deuso was quoted as saying.
He was recently criticized for predicting that gun violence against the federal government would occur in response to authorities arresting illegal alien nationals residing in the United States.
As mayor, Deuso will lead the six-member city council.
This news coincides with Pennsylvania’s vote to retain three far-left Democratic justices on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, meaning far-left Democrats will retain a Democratic majority on the Keystone State Supreme Court.
